Who we are
Hangzhou J-Homes ("J HOMES", "we"), Hangzhou, China, is the data controller for the personal data processed through the trade portal at hzjhomes.com. Contact: privacy@hzjhomes.com.
What personal data we collect
Business contact details you give us when you apply for a trade account: your name, company, job title, business email address, country and city, shop website and VAT number, and anything you write in your application. When you use the portal we also process your sign-in credentials (your password is stored only as a salted hash), a session cookie, the selections you send us, and security logs of the time, IP address and nature of each request.
Why we use it and our legal basis
To verify that your business is a retailer or wholesaler and to open, run and secure your trade account (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, contract). To prevent fraud and misuse of the portal, which includes checking VAT numbers against the EU VIES and UK HMRC services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interests). To respond to the selections and enquiries you send us (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Who we share it with
Our sales and administration team, and our hosting and email service provider, which acts as a processor on our instructions. We do not sell personal data and we do not pass it to third parties for marketing.
How we protect your data
Your data is held on secure cloud infrastructure and protected by encryption in transit, access controls limited to our sales and administration team, server-side session management, rate limiting and regular backups. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
How long we keep it
Declined applications: 12 months from the decision. Account data: for the life of the account and 24 months after the last sign-in. Security logs: 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Write to privacy@hzjhomes.com; we answer within 30 days.
Complaints
You may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.
Is providing data mandatory?
Your name, company, country and business email address are required to open a trade account; without them we cannot verify your business. The VAT number, website and city are optional but help us approve your application faster.
Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions about your trade account by automated means alone. Every application is reviewed by a member of our team.
Cookies
The portal uses one strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the date above shows the current version. Material changes will be announced to account holders by email.
